Jefferson Betancourt is a Vice President at SchoolWise Partners, where he leads client relationships and quarterbacks transactions from kickoff through closing.

Jefferson works side-by-side with owners to manage the full process—shaping strategy and positioning, performing detailed financial and operational analysis, and driving timelines and execution. Jefferson also manages all stakeholders and counterparties throughout the transaction, coordinating buyers, lenders, attorneys, accountants, and other third parties to keep diligence, documentation, and closing on track.

Prior to SchoolWise, Jefferson was an investment banking associate in Credit Suisse’s Financial Sponsors Group in New York, where he advised over 30 private equity firms and their portfolio companies on $50bn worth of leveraged finance transactions. Jefferson has over a decade of banking experience and has worked at major institutions such as Bank of America, TD Bank, and BB&T. 

Jefferson graduated from Cornell University with an MBA, University of Connecticut with an MS in Accounting, and the University of Florida with a BS in Finance. A native Floridian, Jefferson currently resides in Miami, FL.
